When starting a surrogacy journey in Mexico, one of the first questions many intended parents ask is how payments are structured and how to ensure everything is handled safely and fairly.
At SMARTPath Fertility International, our goal is simple: to make every financial step transparent and predictable, while keeping both intended parents and surrogates protected.

Two Separate Payment Paths
There are two main types of payments in a Mexico surrogacy program:
Agency & Medical Costs
Surrogate Compensation
Each one follows its own process to ensure clear records and accountability.
Agency & Medical Costs
These cover administrative services, coordination, and all medical procedures connected to the surrogacy process.
Payments can be made securely through:
Wire transfer
Zelle
Credit card (a 3.5% processing fee applies)
We never request your account details. You always initiate payments directly through your preferred method.
These costs are typically divided into installments tied to key milestones (for example: match, legal contracts, embryo transfer, pregnancy confirmation).
🤱🏽 Payments to the Surrogate
Payments to your surrogate are handled directly by the intended parents, usually through Remitly, or Western Union.
This approach keeps both sides safe by:
Protecting your personal financial details
Allowing quick and traceable cash pickup in Mexico
Matching familiar methods most surrogates already use confidently
Your surrogate will receive monthly compensation during pregnancy, as outlined in her contract. The final installment is typically divided in two:
One portion when the baby is born
The remainder when you receive your baby’s passport and are ready to return home
Direct Vendor Payments
You pay for certain services directly as they occur, including hotel stays, the birth certificate registrar, and the U.S. Embassy. We’ll always guide you through these steps and provide receipts for every expense.
Transparency and Trust
We believe that money should never be a mystery. That’s why every family receives:
A clear cost breakdown
A timeline of expected payments
Written confirmation for every transfer
Surrogates are also informed of their payment schedule in writing, ensuring fairness and peace of mind for everyone.
A Partnership Built on Integrity
We design our Mexico surrogacy program to equally protect the interests of both intended parents and surrogates. By keeping every transaction transparent and documented, we help you focus on what truly matters, which is preparing to meet your baby.
